Health Information Management
A state-of-the-art department, Health Information Management at Mary Washington Hospital is staffed by a team of friendly, caring professionals, who utilize the latest Soft-Med software applications including:

• Chart Scan & View with on-line chart completion
• Chart Release
• Voice to Text and Electronic Signature

Our coding staff utilizes the most up-to-date version of 3M products and reference materials including APR/DRG, AHA Coding Clinic, and more. Our Coding opportunities will also be available soon for at-home set-up. Our documentation review team consists of experienced and clinically diverse RNs who work with physicians, clinicians and coders to ensure complete and thorough medical record documentation.

Infection Control
Our Infection Control program is one of the best in the country. Highly skilled physicians and clinicians quickly diagnose patients whose symptoms indicate an infectious disease, even for those patients with rare and unusual cases.

Pastoral Care
Supplementing the spiritual care provided by community ministers, our Pastoral Care Associates conduct individual visits, participate in inter-disciplinary treatment teams, lead regular and seasonal worship services, and perform religious rites and rituals upon request. Mary Washington Hospital houses a beautiful chapel that provides a place for people of all faiths to nurture their spirit through prayer, reflection, and meditation. Chapel construction was made possible by a generous donation from the Mary Washington Hospital Auxiliary. Members of our Hospital's Pastoral Care Department also offer ministry training in an accredited Clinical Pastoral Education program through an arrangement with Virginia Commonwealth University. Participants in this program serve as chaplain interns at the hospital and occasionally at other MediCorp Health System family of facilities.
