Mary Washington Hospital is well known for providing a level of surgical excellence that is unsurpassed in our region. Our experienced team of surgeons are specialists performing everything from hernia repairs to reconstructive surgery. Utilizing the latest surgical technology, such as precision robotics, is a norm throughout our 10-room operating suites.

Our OR is constantly growing to cater to the increasing demand of our community. In fact, we are planning to add five more suites this year. The unit offers expert services that include Cardiac, EENT, General/Vascular, Ortho/Neuro, Plastic, GYN, Obstetrics, GU, Podiatry, and Oral/Dental.

Our neurosurgery services include innovative procedures like stereotactic surgery and pallidotomy, the newest technique in treating Parkinson's disease. Orthopedic surgeries we perform include joint replacement surgeries and microsurgical reattachment procedures.

Equipment-rich, fully automated unit with patient case-carts
When you join us, you'll work in a unit that is amply stocked with leading-edge equipment. Each suite includes a full set-up with its own equipment. Also, we have fully supplied case-carts that house everything you'll need for a patient's specific procedure. What does this all mean to you? Simply this: you are free to do what you do best - care for your patients - since you no longer have to take time away to search for appropriate equipment.

Satellite pharmacy within unit
With our own satellite pharmacy housed within the unit, you will no longer have to wait for patient medication through the full hospital pharmacy. When you call for medications, our satellite pharmacy fills it almost immediately.

Enjoy the best of both worlds in your practice
Our unit is divided into clinical teams, each managed by a specialty coordinator or a team leader. This gives nurses like you the best of both worlds - a generalist model, balanced with an open team approach. Also, our OR schedule begins later on Fridays, so there will be time for team meetings and unit meetings as well as continuing education training for you.

PACU

• All RN staff, supported round-the-clock by in-house ancillary staff
• Scheduling variety - 8 and 12-hour shifts
• Secretarial and nursing assistant support in PACU
• Great support from anesthesia

CSR

• Comprehensive CSR internship that trains people with virtually no health care experience to become CSR Aides
• Provide financial support for certification and send Associates to national certification classes (expect full certification eventually)
